Indians Post Another Doubleheader Win!


The Indian JV footballers got the excitement started in Batesburg-Leesville by putting the ball in the net just 2 minutes into their match against Region III AA rival Batesburg-Leesville. With 12 minutes remaining in the match the Indians added another goal on a hard shot that deflected off of the Batesburg-Leesville goalkeeper and was put into the back of the net by the Indians to take a 2-0 lead. The JV Indians continued their tough defense in making the 2 goals stand up for a 2-0 win and a 10-0 record.

 With the excitement from the JV team's 10th consecutive win the Varsity Indians took the field and with 20 minutes remaining in the first half found the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead. The Indians ran with the momentum of the first goal and put the ball in the back of the net 3 more times to grab a 4-0 lead at halftime. Batesburg-Leesville cut the lead to 4-1 just minutes into the second half but the Indians tightened up their defense which led to 2 more goals and an exciting 6-1 win over Batesburg-Leesville. The Indians will now face Andrew Jackson Friday night with playoff implications on the line. The Indians will then travel to Columbia High School on April 12 with the Region III AA Championship on the line.
